Esta música foi composta por Michael Jackson e Lionel Richie.Em 1985,os cantores convidaram vários  astros famosos da música americana para formar um movimento chamado "U.S.A. for Africa".Este grupo tinha como objetivo conscientizar as pessoas do seu papel na sociedade e promover a união proporcionando aos menos favorecidos condições de viver em igualdade.Parte da renda da venda do disco foi destinada para ajudar os povos africanos e a outra parte aos pobres do Estados Unidos.
